Plum Wine

06/12/2011

Plum Wine Back in 2010 I harvested plums from my property. My dad has made wine on and off all of my life and the bumper crop of plums gave me the perfect reason to learn the art from him. Two years down the line the container of liquid sitting in my back room was ready to be inspected. I opened it up last year and thought I had produced a lifetime worth of vinegar. Dad was more optimistic and said to leave it alone and not give up hope. Last week we opened it and had a first taste. I MAKE WINE (or more a port perhaps)! I've bottled it up and have tucked it away for another couple of years (at least).......let the ageing process continue. I'm so stoked with my results that I'm thinking perhaps pear wine is on my "to do" list this year.
